Canon XT/XTi rebel, and 30D/40D are among the most popular digital SLRs. There are many camera reviews available and it is easy to choose the camera you want. But which lens should you buy:I own Canon Xt rebel. When I bought my lens, I have done a through research. For all these cameras, the best walk around lens is Canon 17-55 mm ($929) f2.8 IS USM, with IS and f2.8, I was able to get good pictures at speed of ΒΌ s in dark!. The color, contrast, resolution of this lens are excellent. With 1.6 factor, it is corresponding to 27-88 mm in a 35 mm camera. Another lens you need is Canon 70-200 mm f4L IS USM($1011). It is relative light at 700 g with 4 stop IS, this is one of the best lens available on the market. Another cheaper alternative is Canon 70-200 f4LUSM($539). If you feel these two lens are too expensive, an one lens solution is Canon 24-105 mm f4 IS USM ($979). If you still feel this one is expensive, then the kit lens with Canon 40D: canon 28-135 mm is your choice. For the best value of non canon lens, Tamera 17-50 mm f2.8 and Tamera AF 18-250 mm f3.5-6.3 are good choices. The most affordable combination will be Canon XTi (without kit lens) and Sigma 17-70 mm, f2.8-4.5.
