Cnet rated Vizio XVT473SV as 4/5 excellent. XVT3SV series LCD TV is the first ever Vizio LCD TV rated as excellent on cnet.  “The Vizio XVT3SV series’ excellent picture quality, thoughtful design, scads of features, and reasonable price combine to make it the best value among high-end LED-based LCD TVs today.”

Vizio XVT473SV received a great review at avguide:

” Packed with a range of useful Internet applications, the set delivers excellent video performance, and is priced hundreds of dollars less than some competitive models. Vizio XVT553SV, another model in the same series, was reviewed at televisioninfo.com.  This review commented on the  color accuracy and a large viewing angle of XVT553SV.  But also indicated  the “terrible” black levels.

It seems to me the black level of Vizio XVT 3 series is a controversy.   AVguide believes that  the black levels of Vizio XVT473SV is excellent:  ”Vizio excels at delivering excellent deep blacks.”  Some users at AVS Forum indicated that the auto dimming feature has to be turned off to get crisp picture and contrast.

Vizio XVT473SV is Vizio’s top of the line 2010 LED HDTV with rich features such as great Internet contents and built-in WiFi 802.11n dual band.  Considering the price and the full range of features  and connectivity (5HDMI inputs), it is a good buy for the money.
