Sumsung and Sony LCD TV are almost always ranked among the best LCD TV. But best LCD TVs are not always on sale. Sometimes, the good LCD TVs are not far from the best one and sold in deep discount. Are you going to buy the good LCD with great price or the best LCD with high price? There is one case like this day. Toshiba Regza 42HL167 42 ” 1080 LCD is on sale at amazon for $949.9. This is a great deal. But how good is the model?

According to consumerreports, this model does have excellent picture with very good contrast and image details. On screen menu is easy to navigate. However, the viewing angle is small. If there are many people watching TV at the same time, this is not the one for you. This model is being replaced by newer model and that is why the price is so cheap.

Cnet review of Toshiba Regza 42HL167,

Pros: Has a 42-inch screen size. This is larger than the average TV on the market today, but is to be expected for a TV of this price. With built-in HDTV compatibility, this unit can display images that are significantly sharper and more realistic than regular television, as long as the source is high definition. (It can easily render standard-resolution digital TV broadcasts and also depict the full resolution of widescreen DVD video.) The 3:2 pulldown feature of this TV reduces artifacts that can occur when motion pictures are transferred to a digital format such as DVD.

Cons: Has only a rear connector location.

Overall, this TV has great features for the money.
