Nikon D80 is one of the most popular digital SLRs.  Nikon D80 successor Nikon D90 is out with many excellent reviews.  If you have Nikon D80, should you upgrade to Nikon D90?

Comparing with Nikon D80, Nikon D90 has higher resolution 12.3 mega-pixel verse 10.2 megapixel and  maximum sensitivity ISO 6400 verse 3200, significant faster shooting speed 4.5 fps verse 3 fps, upgraded AF system  with 3D tracking and face detection.

Perhaps, the most important features of Nikon D90 are  the new 23.6 x 15.8 mm CMOS sensor (Nikon D80 uses 23.6 x 15.8 mm CCD sensor) and  720p movie mode.  Nikon D90 is the first digital SLR to record videos.

In addition,  Nikon D90 has a larger and much better LCD display with live view ( 3 inch and 920k verse 2.5 inch 230k on Nikon D80).  Other new features include dust removing system, HDMI out put, optional GPS unit etc.

If money is not issue and you want the movie mode, faster shooting speed and live view, it is definitely worthy to upgrade to D90.

To buy Nikon D90, buy from Amazon for $889.
