The Samsung UND8000 series 3D TV, the successor of the popular Samsung UNC8000 in 2010,  is Samsung’s high end 3D LED TV in 2011 featuring Smart TV, 240Hz refresh rate, Edge-lit LED backlight with local dimming plus micro dimming Pro, built-in WiFi, touch screen remote, and a 0.2-inch thin bezel with a metallic finish. The Samsung UND8000 series is one of the three nominees for CNet’s Best of CES award in TV category.

Samsung’s new Smart TV includes Samsung Apps with a universal search and Web browser, and built-in Wi-Fi. The universal search can search across broadcast listings, networked PCs and mobile devices, and Internet channels and Video on Demand services.

The UND8000 series also have a LCD Touch Control TV remote with a virtual QWERTY keypad and built-in Wi-Fi. The LCD remote can control your home theater, access Samsung Apps over the Internet without interfering with the TV’s on-screen action, and even duplicate the TV screen with its built-in 3-inch display.

Samsung’s Micro Dimming Pro technology allows the more precise control of the back-light. With the micro dimming, the top and bottom of the panel that receive less edge light, would have more uniformity.

The UND8000 series support active-shutter 3D glasses that use Bluetooth. Samsung claims the bluetooth 3D glasses will allow for better line-of-sight and range than the previous 3D glasses that used a 3D signal emitter to sync the lenses up to the TV images. The bluetooth glasses would be less interfered by IR remotes.

The UND8000 series include 4 models:

All will be available in the first half of 2010.
