Nikon D5000, D3000, D60, D40, D40X compatible lenses
From previous post on the comparison of Nikon D5000 with Nikon D90, we know one major limitation of the new D5000 is the lack of AF motor. Not only D5000, D3000, but also D60 and D40-series cameras don’t have AF motor and require a lens with a built-in focus motor (called an “AF-S” lens) for autofocus. For regular “AF” lenses, you have to use MF only. This can be a problem for many people who are used to autofocus. For details, read the table below.
