The LG 55LW5600 55-inch passive 3D LED TV featuring  LED plus with local dimming, 120Hz refresh rate, Smart TV with NetCast and web browser,  DLNA, and built-in WiFi.  The LW5600 series comes a magic wand remote and  4 pairs of 3D glasses.

Pro:

  • Passive 3D glasses which are lighter and inexpensive
  • Decent 3D pictures with good contrast and colors
  • Excellent 2D picture colors
  • Extensive Internet content and a web browser

Con:

  • Black levels below competition such as Sony EX720
  • Some artifacts

The LG 55LW5600 is a mid range 3D LED TV with some caveat.  As with many LG LED TV, it does have reasonable  viewing angle and excellent colors.

The passive  3D TVs utilized a polarized film to separate the left- and right-eye images. The required passive or polarized 3D glasses are much lighter and far cheaper than active shutter glasses. You can buy many pairs to enjoy the 3D movies and sports with your family and friends.

The Internet content is improved and very good.  LG’s new Smart TV is the upgraded NetCast Entertainment Access.  New partners include Hulu Plus, NHL Game Center, NBA Game Live, and MLB.TV  An LG App Store and a Web browser were also added.

The LW5600 series have two models:

  • 55-inch 55LW5600
  • 47-inch 47LW5600
