HDTV buying guide: which size should you buy?

High definition LCD TVs are almost always wide-screen nowadays. For wide screen HD LCD TV, you can sit much closer than regular TV. If your room is small, a 32 inch LCD will be good enough. On the other hand, you should buy a bigger one such as 42 inch LCD for your large living room or family room. 1080 TV, or 1920 x 1080 LCD TV is highly recommended. There is an easy formula to calculate the size of LCD TV:
- the minimum size = Viewing distance/3
- the maximum size = viewing distance / 1.5
The ideal viewing distances are as follows:
