It is known that the blowout sale of electronics is from Thanksgiving to Christmas. But according to Stephen Baker, who works on electronics of the market and research firm NPD, good deals on HDTVs can be found from early April.

The reason is that for most Japanese manufacturers, the fiscal year ends in March. The new models will be released after March. The old models will be cleared from the inventory.

I have noticed over the years that the big retailers such as Dell.com and best-buy tend to get rid of the older models at this time with high discounts, up to 30%.
