Best password manager programs for your MacBook and iPhone 3G
After used my new MacBook for the last month, I really like it. Although there are complains about reflections of the LED display, there are ways to avoid it. The only thing I missed on the window OS is the Roboform password manager. So I did extensive research on the password managers for Mac. Two of them are on my finally list: 1Password and SplashID. As a matter of fact, these are not really competitive products. Both are excellent programs. If you use it solely for browser, or mainly for your browser, 1Password work much better. With 1Password, It is very easy for you to generate a good password, store it and automatic log-in when you need it after sign in with the master password. 1Password is very similar as the Roboform in the window system. There is also an iPhone version that you can synchronize with you MacBook. The Mac version costs $40 and the iPhone program is free.
SplashID is a program which does everything. The best part is that it lists everything in different categories: such as cell phone accounts, registration code, frequently flyer numbers, web log-in passwords. The iPhone program of SplashID is much better than 1password although you have to pay $10 for it.

The question is which one is for you?
If you just use it for remembering web log-in information, 1Password is much better and work more smoothly with the browser. You can still store other data and information in the program. Just not as list as nicely in SplashID.
If you want an all in one program which does everything. SplashID is for you. But keep in mind that you have to put website log-in information manually into the program. On iPhone, you have to type the password manually when you use it to log in a website. This is kind of annoying for some people.
I personally selected SplashID since I don’t have a large number of web log-ins and I want to put all my data in one place and can syn with MacBook. I have tried 1Password too, it is very good program which works just like Roboform. Both programs are recommended highly.

Both programs are excellent, unfortunately there is no direct comparison of the two programs. I have to try both and see which is better for me.
