Best 3D TV 2011
The following 3D HDTVs were selected as the best 3D TVs at CES 2011.
Panasonic VT30 series:
The Panasonic VT30 series is the successor of the last year’s best 3D plasma HDTV-Panasonic VT25 series. The major improvement of the VT30 series over the VT25 series is the addition of the ”Infinite Black Pro 2 Panel.” Panasonic claimed the panel “raises the luminous efficiency while minimizing pre-discharge, resulting in even more subtle, delicate blacks, in both dark and bright environments than last year’s Infinite Black Pro Panel provided.”
The Panasonic VT30 incorporated VIERA Connect, Panasonic’s new upgraded Internet TV, including Netflix, Amazon VOD, You Tube, Pandora, Twitter, Bloomberg News, a weather channel and Skype, plus new added popular apps as Hulu Plus, Napster, CinemaNow, Facebook, and sports sites including MLB.TV, MLS Matchday Live, NBA Game Time, and NHL Game Center.
The Panasonic VT30 series includes two models: the 65-inch P65VT30 and the P55VT30. The Panasonic VT30 series was one of three nominees for Cnet’s Best of CES award in TV category.
Vizio XVT3D6SP series:
The Vizio XVT6SP series is a passive 3D TV featuring Full-array LED backlight with local dimming technology, 480Hz refresh rate, VIA plus Internet Apps with Google TV, Built-in WiFi, and a touch pad QWERTY remote control.
Vizio Theater 3D TV, or passive 3D TV, delivers flicker-free and brighter images and significantly reduces crosstalk compared to current Active Shutter 3D LCD TVs. The passive 3D TV uses polarized glasses, the same as used in 3D movie theater, which are much cheaper and lighter than active shutter glasses. You can get as many pairs as wish and enjoy 3D movie or sports with your family and friends for relative longer period of time.
VIA Plus with Google TV allows users to access their favorite apps as well as search and browse the web using a premium Bluetooth QWERTY universal remote with touch pad and built-in dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi.
The Vizio XVT3D6SP series was selected as Cnet’s Best of CES award. Vizio XVT3D6SP series has two models: the 55-inch XVT3D556SP and the 47-inch XVT476SP.
Samsung UND8000 series
The Samsung UN65D8000 65-inch 3D TV is Samsung’s high end 3D LED TV in 2011 featuring Smart TV, 240Hz refresh rate, Edge-lit LED backlight with local dimming plus micro dimming Pro, built-in WiFi, touch screen remote, and a 0.2-inch thin bezel with a metallic finish. The Samsung UND8000 series is the successor of the last year’s popular UNC8000 series.
Samsung’s new Smart TV includes Samsung Apps with a universal search and Web browser, and built-in Wi-Fi. The universal search can search across broadcast listings, networked PCs and mobile devices, and Internet channels and Video on Demand services.
Samsung’s Micro Dimming Pro technology allows the more precise control of the back-light. With the micro dimming, the top and bottom of the panel that receive less edge light, would have more uniformity.
The Samsung UND8000 has four models: 65-inch UN65D8000, 60-inch UN60D8000, 55-inch UN55D8000 and 46-inch UN46D8000. All will be available at the first half of this year. The price details are not available yet.
The Samsung UND8000 series is one of the three nominees for CNet’s Best of CES award in TV category.
